There’s No More Confident Love Than a BC Favourite

Alcibiades – Grade I [BC]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $400.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.

1st Confidently In Love, trained by Mb Stables
The DMR Debutante winner looked the class horse in the race beforehand and confirmed that with a very strong two length win. With two grade ones in a row she will go to the BC a likely favorite and who would bet against her after this comprehensive win. Just off the pace she came through on the bit and strode away with consummate ease. A daughter of Im Too Confident she hails from the all-powerful Mb Stable and though she wasnt the fastest worker in the race its is clear she has an abundance of the hidden heart and class gene.

2nd Blue Jeans, trained by First Class Stable
Before the race i was keen on her over this trip and she justified her entry with another strong finish from off the pace. Last for a lot of the trip she flew late for second and i would imagine she will build into a TC type if she can sort out a better position to occupy during her races.

3rd Amen Sista, trained by D J C Racing Stables
The wide draw meant she had to go back or forward and she chose back and whilst she finished well for third one wonders whether she would’ve been better off going closer to the pace. This is her second third at grade one level so she clearly has plenty of ability.

4th Diminuendo, trained by Smokey Stover
Backed into an unlikely favourite on the back of a state bred maiden win and a fast work she was a shade one paced back in fourth. There will be plenty of improvement in her but it may be next season when we see the best of her.
