Woodbine regular has definitely found a home here north of the border, and this may be his first ever Stakes win, but his trainer Arindel now has a record of 15 stakes win in 106 stakes tries, and he is approaching 100 wins and $5,000.000 in earnings in just his first season.
- Frost King Stakes – Purse $100.000
- Woodbine Racetrack – For Two year olds, Foaled in ON.
- Seven furlongs- Main track
Bobbin For Stars ( Arindel ) has been a regular here at WO, and keeping a horse over a surface continuously can help him or her perform better. This juvenile bay colt out of Caleb ( sire of multiple stakes winning foals ) is definitely setting the bar for his sophomore season. With a record of 7 ( 3-1-0 ) and a total of $109.760 in career earnings, this thoroughbred has only seen Bahen in the irons on his back. this is his first back to back victory and it will be interesting to see if we will see him return in the Kingarvie or the Display in December. Both are a mile and a sixteenth in distance, a distance I personally feel should work well for him.
Going runner-up would be Crocker Ggs’ Metal To Mist who was trying all he could do to capture this event, but when all looked like it was falling in place, the eventual winner would steal it in a photo by a nose. Was just his fourth career start, and his second attempt at the stakes level. This chestnut gelding should be looking for an event going longer next time, and start to make his focus to possibly go for the Canadian Triple crown next season.
The final runners of Romantic Boots ( Drabfantasy ) who would finish third in just his second career start, and he still has not broke his maiden yet, so his future focus is pretty much open to which path he will take. The final finisher was The Sidley Stud’s Techno War who has yet to find a top three placing in his last two stakes try. Should be one who should remain here at Woodbine and try one of the two events listed over this track in December. Fields will more then likely remain light for entries.
