Never Forgotten Too Classy for The Foward Gal Stakes

The Forward Gal Stakes – GIII (P3) [KYO]
GP Race 5 7F – Dirt
Purse $150.000
Three Year Olds Fillies

1st Never Forgotten, trained by Estero Farms

Top choice of the race here and she made her seasonal debut a winning one with a half length victory in here. She sat right off the pace in here and made a nice move to go by and edge away later. She ran the distance in 1:22.11 and earned $90.000 for the win.

2nd Niagra Beauty, trained by Allinthegate

A big run from this filly here as she tried to go gate to wire in here but she just could not hold off the winner. She didn’t set fractions that were blazing fast but they were not walking slow either. She was game to hold on for a good second place finish.

3rd Miss Tallmadge, trained by John Henry

Probably not a preferred trip for this filly as she had to drop all the way back to last from her outside post. She was about seven lengths off the lead most of the way and made a very big run from last down the stretch to only get beat by half of a length.

4th Very Brady, trained by Maletto

Good run from this filly also as she ran a lot better than I expected her to off of the maiden breaking score. She was in the middle of the field for most of the trip and she stayed on very well to run fourth. She was only beaten a length in the end.

4th Rabbit For A Cause, trained by Jive Inc.

A dead heat for fourth here as they couldn’t separate them and this filly ran a good race from an outside post. She was in a good stalking trip for most of the way and she seemed poised to go on with it but sort of flattened out down the lane. Not a bad race from her at all.

A very competitive race with only a length separating the top five finishers that were in the money. Never Forgotten was just a little too classy for this field and she made the seasonal debut a winning one. She should be set up for a night prep season. Congratulations to Never Forgotten and Estero Farms.
