Bite The Bullets In A Nail Biter In The Ashland

The Ashland – GI (P7) [KYO]
4/4/20
KEE Race 4 1 1/16M – Dirt
Purse $500.000
Three Year Olds Fillies

1st Bite The Bullet, trained by Mb Stables

Turning the tables on a few other runners in here from her last start as she flew home late to get up by only a head. She came from about the middle of the field to roll home late. She ran the race in 1:41.74 and earned $300.000 plus a spot in the Kentucky Oaks.

2nd Freys Ugly Daughter, trained by Gdp Inc

A former claimer almost turned grade one winner here as she ran the best race of her career on the big stage. She was also rolling down the stretch but just could not get past the winner. She ran a very gallant race.

3rd Drink Me Pretty, trained by Estero Farms

Once again graded stakes glory evades her by a slim margin as she was only beaten three quarters of a length. She runs good every time but I think she may have been just a little too close in here. She is still a very nice filly.

4th Always Wendy, trained by Mb Stables

Rounding out the top four here and making two on the board for Mb Stables. She ran a good race and was only beaten by a length for it all as she just could not go on with the other three. She still ran very good in here.

Summary

I was not sure if Bite The Bullet was good enough as some of the other had recently beat her but she put it all together in here and won very nicely. Congratulations to Bite The Bullet and Mb Stables on the win and spot in the Kentucky Oaks.
