$150.000     4yo&Up     6f  Dirt    124 pounds +penalties

Make it two in a row, as Chip Away, owned by South Shore Stables, closed determinedly to get under the wire first and take Saturday’s GP Sprint Championship (GIII) by a neck in a final time of 1:094 for the six furlongs.  The main track was listed as fast.  The chestnut gelding was winless last season but has shown that patients is a great thing to have as he is in the best form of his life.  Sweet Sweet Sweet bounced back from a bad outing last out, and the defending BC Sprint champ set all of the fractions and led til deep stretch, taking the second spot.  Higher Drift closed from well back to be third and Winchester took the minor money.

Chip Away is a 5yo gelded son of Hollywood Sin – Norwegian Passion, by Norwegian Illusions, and he was bred by his owner, South Shore Stable, in KY.  This was his sixth win from twenty five starts, his first graded stakes win and he continues a perfect ’22 season.  Congrats to the connections!
