The Road Goes On Forever… but the Martyparty never ends.  Loihi stalked the pace throughout Saturdays Santa Ana Stakes (GIII) and got up late to take the win, traveling the mile and a quarter on the SA turf in 1:584.  Proud Eights did all of the heavy lifting, setting a pressed pace throughout, but had to settle for the place, a half length better than Classic Princess in third and Folsom Tradition in fourth.

Loihi is a 4yo bay filly by King Party – Laffin In Spanish, by Spanish Force, and she ws bred by her owner, Martyparty, in California.  This was her seventh life time win from sixteen starts, two wins this season, and she now has earrings of $348.440.

Loihi broke alertly, pressed the pace from the rail, took the lead nearing the sixteenth marker, won driving.  Proud Eights sent from the gate, set the pace from the 2p, headed at the sixteenth pole, continued on well to the wire.   Classic Princess rated back to mid-pack, no excuse.  Folsom Tradition trailed, never a threat.  Lost Goddess was not a factor.
