Audioslave Shows “Original Fire” in Triple Bend Win

4  SA   Triple Bend Stakes (GII)

$200.000   4yo&Up    7f Dirt    123lbs +penalties

If you threw the favorite out, we gave you a nice exacta in this one…  this was a battle of necks as Audioslave, owned by Alydar Stables took the Triple Bend Stakes (GII) by a neck over When Your Strange, then another neck to Not Trippin Now in third.  His stable-mate Harry Met Meghan was fourth.  The final running time was 1:21.43 for the seven furlongs over the SA fast main track.  Five lengths covered the field in this closely matched contest.

Audioslave is a 7yo gelded son of Wonderfully Wicked – Twist Of Delight, by Twist Of Fate, and he was bred by his owner, Alydar Stables, in Cal.  This was his first win of the ’22 season, eleventh overall and he now has lifetime earnings of $1,324.480.  Congrats to the Connections!

Audioslave rated back off of the pace 2p, began to move forward through the turn moving widest of all for the drive, engaged leaders at the sixteen, all out to gain the advantage late.  When Your Strange rated back to stalk the pace 2p, moved to 3p for the drive, good late effort, just missed.  Not Trippin Now mid-pack along the rail to the top of the lane, began to move forward from the inside, battled through the lane, out-kicked.  Harry Met Meghan raced evenly throughout, no excuse.  In Captivity off a step slow, fanned into the lane, some late interest.  Tko sent from the gate, set the pace to the sixteen marker, folded.  Trippi Bay was not a factor.  Dutty John Crow sharp break, forced the pace to the sixteenth marker, nothing left.  Daddy Operation trailed throughout.  Mo Town forwardly placed to the lane, tired.
