Oh “Fiddlestycks” Simpson Belongs to Chili King

  2  KD   Simpson Stakes (GII)

$1,000.000    3yo    6 1/2  Turf   122lbs

Chili King Stables’ Fiddlestyck has been the picture of consistency throughout his career, but Saturday’s Simpson Stakes (GII) win may have been a warning to everyone that this gelding may be a huge factor in the fall stakes season as he closed well to get up by a neck in the Simpson Stakes (GII) stopping the timer at 1:13.92 for the six and a half furlongs over the firm KD sod.  Drinkin Creepin gave a valiant effort, but settled for the place, then Pluck Around Boy a close-up third.  Chrystal Chai was fourth in the field of ten.
