Lady Hilltopper Gets The Top Spot In Honeymoon Stakes
The Honeymoon Stakes was a hard race to find a horse to like since the story for most of these fillies was more about using this race as a springboard for their career as opposed to what they had done already. If you wanted to beat the favorite, this may have been a good race to play the odds board and pick your longshot.

Loaded Field For The Gold Cup
The excitement on Memorial Day continues with a race that probably could be named after one trainer with the way that they have owned it lately. It is the 19th running of the Grade 1 Gold Cup, sending horses ten furlongs along the main track and a race that has had a few two-time winners.

Hit The Beach on Memorial Day with The Gamely Stakes
With it being a holiday weekend, the virtual racing excitement continues into Monday with some big races, many of which happen here at SA. In the Gamely Stakes, which is a Grade 1 event for female turf horses, a field of five will be vying for the winner’s share of the $400.000 purse.

Up And Comers Take the Stage in Honeymoon Stakes
Coming up at SA on Sunday will be the 18th running of the Grade 3 Honeymoon Stakes, which is held for three year old fillies. Over those eighteen years, the race has seen a lot of changes, first being held at HOL as a Grade 2 until 2013. In 2014, the race headed north to SA, still as a Grade 2, but got downgraded in 2019.

No More Rattle Happy to Sprint Again in The Lang Stakes Win
No More Rattle had been successful as a sprinter, winning two of his four races that were sprints, but trainer Bigchief Stables gave in to the temptation to chase the KYD with him. In 2022, he would only run in preps for the race, and was a non factor, other than one fourth place finish.

Droopy Feasts on the Field in The Dinner Party Stakes Victory
The running of the PRK would be getting closer, and while everyone anticipated the start of that, we still had the running of the Grade 2 Dinner Party Stakes to take care of. This is a race that people would recognize as The Dixie Stakes from years past, but the name of the race changed this year.

Late Run Seals the Deal for Stellar Agent in The Gallorette Stakes
While we did not pick Stellar Agent in the preview, we cannot feel bad because there were not many people who picked her in the pick ‘em, either. With just 3.8% of those participating choosing her among the five available options, she would go off as the longest shot on the board even with the morning line actually liking her.

On My Toes Looks to Take Next Step in The Lang Stakes
The Lang Stakes is part of the festivities on the undercard of the PRK, but the horses will not have to run nearly as long. It is only a six furlong race, giving three year old sprinters a chance to impress in front of a large virtual crowd.

A One Of A Kind Storm Brewing In Gallorette Stakes
Female turf horses will get their chance to shine at PIM as a part of the PRK undercard as the 18th running of the Grade 3 Gallorette Stakes goes to post. It did not attract a large field, but we will have five going to post, with one three year old going up against older horses with a five pound weight allowance.
