We had the right trainer for the QE II Challenge Cup, and in the end this would be a great race for Maxmillion Farm. He would have to settle for third with My Girl Makita, but I am sure he does not mind that after Dawning Ice Age picked up the impressive win with a change of recent tactics.
Arrr! What a Finish in Flower Bowl for Pirate Petranella!
While the Frizette might have been more difficult to predict, we were a headbob away from picking the entire superfecta in the Flower Bowl. This race for older females goes a long way in determining who will be in the BC Fillies and Mares Turf next month, and it would be a thriller.

My Girl Makita Looks Formidable in QE II Challenge Cup
At KEE on Saturday, we will have the 16th running of the Grade 1 QE II Challenge Cup. This is a great opportunity for three year old turf females who do not want to run against older horses at this time. The $500.000 purse is plenty of incentive, and the gate is nearly full.

The two year old racing at BEL has attracted a lot of interest from many different barns, and in the running of the Grade 1 Frizette we will get a chance to see some of the best young fillies in the game. The immediate prize for these twelve is the BC Juvenile Fillies which runs next month, but the long term plan is so much more than that.
