The Alexandra Stakes Returns to Normal This Year
Last year, the Alexandra Stakes ran with only six entrants but had five fillies join the companion race at FG, the Risen Star. This is something that drew a lot of discussion at the time as fillies had significant success against males due in part to their weight allowance. This year, things are much more normal, with no fillies in the Risen Star and a full field in the Alexandra Stakes.
More Twist Claims His Withers Win
Back in November, More Twist showed up in a maiden claiming race for a $12.500 tag. He hadn’t done much in his two previous starts, and no one would have an interest in claiming him that day. More Twist would go on to win that race and has left that class far behind.
