We had some rain fall at KD, and that left the turf simply as good and led to the scratches of two horses. That did not completely dampen the day, or the running of KD Ladies Sprint, as we still had eleven horses going to post, and Smokey Stover smiling in the winner’s circle after the race.

It’s a big day at KD on Saturday, and turf horses could not be any happier. Part of the card features the ninth running of the KD Ladies Sprint, a $1.000.000 race for females. It’s a fantastic opportunity, and it should come as no surprise that we will have a nearly full field as thirteen horses head to the starting gate.

The track may be small, but the purse will be large at CT on Saturday, as the track’s biggest race, the CT Classic, takes place. Nine horses will be participating in this race, hoping to grab the winner’s share of the $1,000.000 being offered.
