This Saturday at SA, older fillies and mares will have their chances to get a Grade 2 victory as the 17th running of the Santa Monica goes to post. This is a seven furlong race that has been won in the past by great horses such as Blonde Dynamite and Steel Reward.

50-Point Prep Races Begin Saturday with Risen Star Stakes
The Risen Star Stakes provides a big step closer to the KYD at the beginning of May in that it is the first 50-point prep race of the year. It will be two more weeks until we see the next one, so it would make sense for some of the better hopefuls at this point of the year to be running in the Risen Star.
