Good Memories Wins Lexington, But It’s Backroad Bounty to The KYD
There were two winners in the Grade 3 Lexington, but not because it was a dead heat. Good Memories, trained by Mb Stables, would get the win in the race, getting the headbob over Backroad Bounty. Despite his victory here, Good Memories will not have enough points to make it into the KYD, but Backroad Bounty’s second place effort gets him into the big race in three weeks.
Incinerator Burns Down the Field in The Fleet Sprint Handicap
Since June 2022, Incinerator has not finished lower than second in any race that he has been in, but it would take a claim by Night Rider Stables to start giving the horse the chances at the stake level. Incinerator won his first race for his new trainer, the $100.000 Thomas Stakes, and now in the Fleet Sprint Handicap, he would score the biggest win of his career.
Kuul Off Freezes the Field in Giants Causeway
Kuul Off would make her graded stake debut in the Grade 3 Giants Causeway, and it would prove to be a successful one as she would come from behind to pick up the win. She was not a complete stake rookie, as there were two ungraded starts, but in this race she would pick up her signature victory.
Final Chance to Earn KYD Points Is Saturday in Lexington
It’s the final chance to earn KYD points! After last week’s excitement, we probably know who at least half of the KYD field will be, but there are spots that are up for grabs at the back end of the top 20. Bring on the Grade 3 Lexington, which is the final opportunity for horses to earn points.

The race first appeared on the schedule in 2006 for a modest $150.000, and gradually saw its purse increase over time until reaching its current level in 2020.
Seven Look to Party in Giants Causeway
It’s time to take a look at the 19th running of the Giants Causeway from KEE, a race that should be memorable as it will provide the largest purse that it ever has in its history. It’s an increase of $50.000 from 2023, and that was also an increase of $50.000 from the $200.000 purse that was seen in 2022.
Fanatical Empire Goes Wire to Wire in Transylvania Stakes Win
The weather would leave the turf course as soft, but several horses in this field had done quite well in limited opportunities on off tracks thus far. Fanatical Empire had no issue with it at all, jumping out to the front from his outside post and staying there until the end for the win!
Classy City Headlines Transylvania Stakes
With all of the attention on the TC Chase, it may be easy to overlook the top three year old turf horses going in the game today. Naturally, some of them are probably still in KYD preps, but in the Transylvania Stakes, we will get a chance to see some of them.
