Grade III

Ghostzapper Can Be Anyone’s Race

We’ll have a full field on Saturday for the 22nd running of the Ghostzapper, a stake that has been a Grade 3 since inception, but has seen some small distance changes over the years. It’s a part of a great day of racing at GP as we lead into the feature races, the GP Oaks and FL Derby.

Six Stars Battle It Out in The OP Mile

The build up to the AR Derby on Saturday will feature the fourth running of the Grade 3 OP Mile, a race that is certainly good enough to be the feature race on any other day. The race offers a $500.000 purse, and six very successful horses will battle it out for the top prize.

Tom Kha Gai Is Beautiful In San Luis Rey Win

Life Is Beautiful seemed as though he would be a strong favorite for the San Luis Rey Stakes, and that is exactly how it would play out on the odds board. That would not mean anything when it came to the race itself, as 12/1 longshot Tom Kha Gai would steal the show and grab the winner’s share of the purse for himself.

Big Names Collide in KY Cup Classic

The field is set for Saturday’s running of the KY Cup Classic, and there are some very big names that will be taking part in it. It’s a $300.000 Grade 3 that debuted in 2006, but has not been run every year and this is just the tenth edition of the race. The race was a Grade 2 from 2006 through 2011, but then did not appear again until 2018, when it was a small ungraded race running for $100.000.
