Only five horses have made their way to GP for the 19th running of the Grade 3 Orchid, but don’t worry, there is plenty of talent within the field. One of them is a horse that has won this race three times already. Impressively, Maggie Greene won the Orchid from 2019 through 2021 before having to settle for second last year.

Sinamaulu Punches His KYD Ticket with Ruby Stakes Win
Coming into the Ruby Stakes, Arindel already boasted one of the horses that many feel is a top KYD contender, but with his barn being as powerful as it is, just one entry into the race will not be enough. Now, he will have at least two entries into the race as Sinamaulu captured the Ruby Stakes, earning the 100 points and showing that he is yet another great horse produced by Hanamaulu.
Terra Command Storms Home in Desert Stormer
There was much to like about the horses that made up the field in the Grade 3 Desert Stormer at SA. They were plenty accomplished over their careers, making you feel that if they were to all run against one another, that it should be for at least double the $100.000 purse that the race offered.
Great Field Lined Up for Desert Stormer
Don’t tell this field of nine that they are only racing for $100.000, because they probably think they are running for at least twice that. The Desert Stormer came up strong, so this is certainly going to be an entertaining race on Saturday out at SA. It sends older females six furlongs on the main track, and runs for the twelfth time.
Ruby Stakes One Of Two 100 KYD Point Races Starting Saturday
You know the KYD is getting closer when we get into the 100 point races. The Grade 3 Ruby Stakes is one of two races on Saturday that will offer that many points, so the over KYD qualifying picture may begin to see a shake up. If we look at that right now, we see Mb Stables really flexing his muscles, having six of the first eight in the overall standings.

Saturday would be the birth of a new Grade 3 within our game, as the Whitmore Stakes took place at OP, sending its field of its field of ten older horses six furlongs around the main track. Several horses looked to be contenders, but in the end there could only be one left to party as the race’s winner.

Silver Jazzmin Holds Off the Storm in The Hurricane Bertie
There were not a lot of people who believed that Silver Jazzmin would get the job done in the Hurricane Bertie, as she was made a 19/1 longshot in the field. We can’t say that we were any different, as she was not among our picks for the race.
