As a part of the CD card this Saturday, we will have the 19th running of The Regret, but there is nothing to regret over the purse level. The $200.000 is an increase of $75.000 on the amount that it ran for last year, and for a race that had been running at $100.000 for a while, it is good to see the change.

King Ranch Reigns In Wild Daytona Stakes Finish
It would be a thrilling finish at the Daytona Stakes as eight of the eleven horses in the field finished within a length of each other at the wire. This includes an exceptionally tight five way photo for win, and when the dust settled, it would be King Ranch getting the headbob over Shelbags to give trainer South Shore Stables their first win in the race.
Lady Hilltopper Gets The Top Spot In Honeymoon Stakes
The Honeymoon Stakes was a hard race to find a horse to like since the story for most of these fillies was more about using this race as a springboard for their career as opposed to what they had done already. If you wanted to beat the favorite, this may have been a good race to play the odds board and pick your longshot.
Up And Comers Take the Stage in Honeymoon Stakes
Coming up at SA on Sunday will be the 18th running of the Grade 3 Honeymoon Stakes, which is held for three year old fillies. Over those eighteen years, the race has seen a lot of changes, first being held at HOL as a Grade 2 until 2013. In 2014, the race headed north to SA, still as a Grade 2, but got downgraded in 2019.
John Henry Should Be the Master of Daytona Stakes
Part of the card on Sunday at SA will be the 15th running of the Daytona Stakes, a turf race that allows older horses a chance to race amongst themselves and away from three year olds getting a weight allowance.
No More Rattle Happy to Sprint Again in The Lang Stakes Win
No More Rattle had been successful as a sprinter, winning two of his four races that were sprints, but trainer Bigchief Stables gave in to the temptation to chase the KYD with him. In 2022, he would only run in preps for the race, and was a non factor, other than one fourth place finish.

Late Run Seals the Deal for Stellar Agent in The Gallorette Stakes
While we did not pick Stellar Agent in the preview, we cannot feel bad because there were not many people who picked her in the pick ‘em, either. With just 3.8% of those participating choosing her among the five available options, she would go off as the longest shot on the board even with the morning line actually liking her.
