It may not be a large field for Saturday’s running of the Texas Turf at LS, as only five horses are entered, but these horses that did make the trip to LS are well accomplished and should give us a great race. This is the fourth time that the Texas Turf has been run here, debuting in 2004, but then being all but forgotten for eighteen years.

Dont Mind A Dime Is Dominant in The Goldwood Stakes
A new stake on the calendar took place on Saturday with the $100.000 ungraded Goldwood Stakes from MTH. It would draw a field of five for a turf sprint, and seemed to have a balanced field. In the end, our pick backed up our support as Asgar’s Don’t Mind A Dime earned the victory.
Let’s Hear It for Cacciadiavola in The Wild Applause
Last year, Smokey Stover won the Wild Applause with Breath Of The Bride, and he would return to this year’s running of the race with another Breath Of The Wild foal: Cacciadiavola. The typical late running filly seemed like one of the better choices in the race, but she would not run today in the way that she had in her prior three starts.
