There’s no denying that Techfluence High has been a successful filly, but after running in the BC last fall, she had hit a cold spell. Last month, she broke out of that slump in a big way right here in the Royal Heroine Stakes, and now in the Gamely, she would make it two in a row!

Electric Blue Lights Up The Shoemaker Mile Field
Electric Blue lived up to his name on Monday, being truly electric in winning the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile by a length and a half over some very strong opposition. This gelding has always been able to win a race, but trainer Spankys Barn has taken him to new heights since acquiring him at the end of the year in private sales.

Back On Grass, Chaparral Cowboy Prevails in The Pennine Ridge
The last time that Chaparral Cowboy was on the turf, he won the Grade 3 De Mille Stakes at DMR, but after that, he would run on the main track for three straight races. He did not get positive results on the dirt, so it was back to the turf. It turns out that the colt couldn’t have been happier to be back on this surface, as he went on to win the Pennine Ridge.
Painville Looks Game for The Gamely Stakes
Female turf horses will get their chance to shine at SA as well, as the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes brings together a field of six for a purse of $300.000. Like we saw with the Shoemaker Mile, this unfortunately represents a purse reduction, as it had been at $400.000 the last two years.
