Walk Em Down Makes an Impression in Risen Star
The Risen Star Stakes is the first 50-point KYD prep race on the schedule, but that didn’t stop Mother Nature from wanting to have her say on things. A steady rain all day at FG made the track muddy/soft. There were twelve horses scheduled to go in the Risen Star, but three of them would scratch out.
South China Sea Stays Hot and Wins Mineshaft Stakes
With the rain that fell at FG on Saturday, we would end up having our original field of eleven be cut to nine but that would not be something that would get in the way of South China Sea. This gelding by Sun Tzu was riding a three race winning streak heading into the race and handled the mud well to make that four.
Chai Danger Wins at FG Again, Capturing FG Stakes
Despite having a lot of success here at FG, the betting public did not give much of a chance to Chai Danger, sending the three-time LCD Turf winner off at odds of 24/1. The seven year old gelding had never actually won a graded stake, and with more well known names taking part, Chai Danger was a longshot.
