Mickey Proves Doubters Wrong in Kilroe Mile
There was much to like about Mickey heading into the Kilroe Mile even with the race having as strong of a field as it did. The Proud Chai gelding was a monster as a three year old, capping off a great season with a win in the BC Turf. He was not done there, though, continuing his great form and looking like the one to beat here. While he was our pick to win, the bettors did not feel the same way for some reason, and made him a 14/1 longshot.
Dead Heat in Buena Vista Stakes
The great La Terrifiant made her way to SA on Saturday for the Grade 2 Buena Vista Stakes looking to pick up her 20th career victory. She would accomplish that, but for this occasion she would have to share the spoils with another one as Painville was right alongside her at the wire, finishing in a dead heat.
Fangs Of The Storm Prevails Over Rebel Girl to Win The Fox
Nine fillies took part in the running of The Fox on Saturday, and that would include several that also ran here at GP last month for the Pegasus F & M Turf. It would be the horse that finished second in that race that would get the job done today as Fangs Of The Storm utilized a smart stalking trip to win and justify our selection of her in the preview.
