Nine Fillies Take Part in The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes
It’s PRK week at PIM, and to kick it off, we have several exciting races taking place on Friday, but none are bigger than the Grade 2 Black Eyed Susan Stakes for three year old fillies. The race is also considered the second leg of the Triple Tiara, or filly Triple Crown, and we will have nine heading to the starting gate for this year’s race.

Weight Doesn’t Hold Down Poetic Panther in Santa Barbara Stakes
In a four horse field, it did seem like Poetic Panther was the one to beat, thanks to a strong performance in the Orchid her last time out. However, she would be at a disadvantage in the race, needing to carry six more pounds than everyone in the field, and that turned some bettors towards one of her rivals.
Gaslight Makes It Look Easy in Wire-to-Wire Win in The Peter Pan
Gaslight could have run in the KYD last week, as he would have had enough points to get in as an also eligible ahead of Fun Runner. However, his trainer, Mb Stables, cannot have more than three horses in the race, so the gelding was instead sent here to AQU for The Peter Pan.
Gorilla Glue Makes Late Run Stick in Runhappy
Gorilla Glue wasn’t given much of a chance by the betting public, going off at odds of 21/1, making him the second longest shot on the board. We didn’t have him in our picks either, but the gelding stepped up and showed his good side en route to a win by a length.

The Gate Is Full for The Peter Pan
The Peter Pan is an appealing race for three year old that always runs right between the KYD and the PRK, and will give us a good blend of horses that were on the TC trail but not able to get into the big race, and others that just beginning to realize their true potential now.
