  The rain that fell at CD on Saturday led to several horses being scratched, including the horse that we picked to win: Categorical Maybe. In fact, two of our top four picks were among the horses that would not be sent to the starting gate as planned. Having no issue with the elements was Dayton, who is trained by Pan Farms.

  There was plenty of reason to like Fanatical Empire in the American Turf, but when the rain came that made the turf course soft, the colt may have actually become more appealing. His prior win, the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes from KEE was also on soft going.

  The great day of racing continues on the undercard for the KYD, and one of the races is named after this very race track. Simply called the CD, this is a Grade 1 race for older horses at seven furlongs, and like many other races on this day, it runs for its highest purse of all time.
