RACE 2 BEL The Mother Goose (GI)

Still hasn’t seen the winner’s circle this season, although she showed great promise in the spring. Last two v. GI company have been less than thrilling and it gets no easier here today. She caught a bad post at CD two back, but had no real excuse last out and that gives me some bad feelings. Still, her best could be right in the middle of it.
Has been tough as nails of late, getting a win (DH) in the KY Oaks (GI) and tired a bit on the grass last out. That may not be her best footing and a return to the main track should get her back on-track, here today. Expect a big effort from this one.
Got back to the winning ways last out but that was against softer. She was ninth in the KY Oaks (GI) and that spells a long afternoon since she faces some of those here. Any check in this one would probably be welcomed.
She’s been facing tough horses, but her last win was back in Jan. going a flat mile at SA. That was a GI race, so you know she has some real ability – I’d like to see her up closer to the early pace or it may be the same result as the last two races… close but nothing to show for it.
The barn plunked down good money as then one was purchased for $1,000.000 after her first race as a 3yo. She won the KY Oaks (GI) in that DH effort and that dynamic duo meet here again. I’d expect another big effort from this filly here today.
Chucked a dud in that KY Oaks (GI) race and that is just not like this one. She’s usually right in the middle of things, but the red flag is certainly flying after that one. Can she find herself or is that a sign of things to come?
Has changed hands twice since Dec and nothing seems to be waking this one up. 7f didn’t do it, no did a mile and an eighth although she was third in that GII race at AQU back in April. The post does her no favors and she will need to run her best for even a minor share.
She has tactical speed and will certainly need it to overcome the post here today. If she can clear them early and keep going, it may be her only recipe for a favorable outcome. This is not her normal distance liking, so we will just have to see how it plays out.
