As the horses entered the gates today at SA the weather was perfect and the high weight in the field Tropical Kiss was the 1 to 2 favorite. One furlong into the race Tidal Wave shot out to a one length lead with Speculate sitting behind her in second and Know How Causeway in third. The top three spots did not change as the horses finished the first quarter of a mile. Halfway through the race Tidal Wave still was leading the race but Know How Causeway had made a move and pulled within a length of Tidal Wave. Speculate started losing some pace and she was passed by Angstrom. With two furlongs to go the long time leader Tidal Wave was still there buy Know How Causeway had started to make her move and had pulled within ¾ of a length of her. The real danger horses started to look like they were the two in the back Tropical Kiss and End Time who were both 6 lengths off the lead and were hoping to close hard and appeared to be doing so. With One furlong to go Tropical Kiss still held a ¼ length lead on Know How Causeway who looked like she may get to the wire first. End Time swung out wide and was continuing her run at the leaders, while Tropical Kiss took the inside route. Ultimately the wire got there just in time for the winner Tidal Wave who lead wire to wire. She held off Know How Causeway, who held off the hard charging efforts of End Time and Tropical Kiss. This was an exciting race and the owners of the top four horses have to be pleased with the results. Lets take a look out how the race paid out:
