As the horses loaded into the starting gate for one of the big races of the day, they were on the turf course that had little give in it as it came up good. 13 of the 14 horses that signed up actually entered the starting gate. As the gates sprung open there were 3 horses that decided to get on the gas and try and go to the front of the field. After the first 2 furlongs You Can Do It had gained control of the lead by ¼ length over Chateau De Versaille who was in 2nd and ½ length of Raquette Lake who was in 3rd. A half mile into their journey You Can Do It was still in the lead going 47 and 4 with Chateau De Versaille sitting just behind her in 2nd. Jawbone, Divine Monsoon and Raquette Lake were behind this pair battling for 3rd. Not much changed in the running order after 6 furlongs but Chateau De Versaille had almost pulled up level with You Can Do It and Divine Monsoon and Jawbone were level for 3rd. One mile into the race Chateau De Versaille had moved just past You Can Do It into first and Jawbone had moved into a clear 3rd but all the horses were taking closer order. With just under 1 furlong to go Chateau De Versallie was calling out for the wire and Jawbone had almost pulled even with You Can Do It for 2nd, and Altered Skeleton had moved out wide for the final drive to the wire. Ultimately Jawbone powered by everyone and got the wire first with Chateau De Versaille finishing second and You Can Do It holding on for 3rd. It was a nice race for many in this field and I can see many stepping up from here. Lets look at how the race broke down and the payouts:
