The Canadian Turf – Grade III
1 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $150.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Danke Schon, trained by Nakamura Stables
Despite not being able to outwork most of the field he proved that it isnt all about what you can do at home with a gutsy head win. After spending two years trying to break his maiden he has now won and placed second at graded stakes level and is a testament to his trainers patience and skill.
2nd Sleet, trained by Fractious
Kept on really well for second and looked like he may win for a stride or two. In the end this was a much better effort than his last place on seasonal debut and it seems we will have to put that effort down to one of HRP’s little glitches.
3rd Laughoftenlovemuch, trained by TwinTowersRacing
Another that ran an awful seasonal debut when an eight length third at allowance level. Today he turned that around into a one length third in a competitive grade three.
4th Steel Ball Red Echo, trained by Chili King Stables
Dare i say ditto, last on seasonal debut he ran much better today being beaten a length into fourth.
