1 Mourn, trained by Team 7 Illusions
This is the first of three daughters of Charley Farley entered by the owner and I must admit that it is not cut and dried as to which one will come out on top. This one has raced three times the last of those resulting in a decent win in a rich WO maiden. She made all and hung on gamely in a small field that day and even though that was over five furlongs she had run well enough in the Lady Angela Stakes before that to suggest this trip is on her radar. Her works are strong on dirt but like her racecourse performance do not have much turf form to look at so that is the bit we have to take on trust.
2 Zip, trained by Team 7 Illusions
Although a winner of two from three you would have to say that on paper this looks the weakest of the stable runners. Her two wins have both come at the fair level but she did the job and clearly has a good heart so you can’t count her out completely. Her works however are pretty average so that is where I will go to write off a winning chance today.
3 You Better Run, trained by Cajun Stables
Probably the class horse in the race and it does look like she has a great winning chance in this. Two game wins in a maiden and allowance preceded a great effort in the WO Oaks where she ran the stalk for a long way before just whacking away for fifth. That run was on the dirt and maybe over a trip too long so this return to turf and slip back in trip look an ideal scenario.
4 And Again, trained by Team 7 Illusions
Ran well in maidens but took a while to get her head in front finally grabbing a narrow win in her fifth try. That win was in a decent time though and she proved she had improved with a nice second in a quick allowance last time out. She looks third best on paper but she could get into the action if things go wrong up front.
5 Zmans Car, trained by Overpeer Stables
Hasn’t run for a long time and her last run was in winning a free track maiden. The trainer has had some decent runs from their horses after taking a break though so you shouldn’t completely write her off.
SUMMARY
This looks pretty clear cut to me with You Better Run winning from the Team 7 pair Mourn and And Again.
