Purse $125.000
Three Year Olds and Up
1st Performance Artist, trained by Serenity Stables
Finally this horse got back on track to his races that he ran on the Kentucky Derby trail and he put in a big performance in this race. He came from midpack and got the money in here like he can when he runs his best race. Maybe this will propel him to the Breeders Cup also. He ran in 1:47.63 and earned $75.000.
2nd Gene Chandler, trained by John Henry
Although he didn’t win he still ran a very good race and like the winner really ran back to his Derby prep races where he was running his best. He ran pretty good for being pretty close to the pace the whole way and he stayed on pretty well. He ran good and completed the Derby runner exacta.
3rd A Storm Has Arrived, trained by Maxmillion Farm
Well its was a pretty good race between these top three as only three quarters of a length separated them from each other. This horse sat second the whole way until the stretch drive where the top two runners ended up getting beat by him. He ran another good race and he’ll probably win one of these races eventually.
4th American Ideal, trained by Nakamura Stables
And now the horse that rounded out the bottom of the board but he didn’t run a bad race at all and he only got beat by a length for the whole thing. He ran his race but just wasn’t good enough to get the win but still he didn’t run a bad race at all. He was running but just not fast enough.
Summary
Well the two Kentucky Derby starters went one two in here and Performance Artist ending up getting the money in here. He finally got back to his best racing form like he was in back in the spring in the triple crown preps. He ran really good and maybe it’ll propel to bigger and better. Congratulations to Performance Artist and Serenity Stables.
