This race will be renamed the San Vindeadheate stakes after this race saw two dead heats in the first four places. This gelding took the lead and just recently that seems the place to be and just refused to give in holding on in a finish which saw the first three separated by a neck. This was an aptly named winner after the ground was turned to mud by a rain storm and whilst he certainly acted in the wet i dont think he is a wet tracker making this game performance all the better.

=1st Socotra Island Nynl Stables Smith M E

In yet another race dominated by pace this one stalked the leader and joined battle down the stretch for a titanic battle and an eventual dead heat win. I think ultimately this one needs in excess of a mile so this could prove to be the sort of win that sets up a tilt at the TC qualifiers.

3rd Gun Down Mb Stables Van Dyke D

The only one to manage to win purse money on his own he flew from the back only failing by a neck to catch the two on pace runners. Another one who will be suited by further this was also the sort of run that sets him up for a TC qualifier next out.

=4th Brady Is A Lady Sharis Stables Gutierrez Mario

Flew home from way back after getting trapped on the rail early on although he was beaten three lengths he wouldve given his trainer a bit of hope going forward with a solid run.

=4th The Pride Of Simba Maxmillion Farm Stevens G L

Went to a bit better than midpack from his wide gate and didnt make much ground up whacking away for a share of fourth and his second dead heat in a row.
