RACE 8 AP AP St Leger Stakes (GIII)
$400.000 3yo&Up 1 1/2m Turf
Sold for big money ($550.000) prior to that last start, which was over this strip. This horse is always a front runner and did the same for the new connections, getting caught on the wire in the Stars & Strips (GIII). He hasn’t been off of the board this season and I don’t see any reason not to expect more of the same. Give him a big look.
This 5yo gelding has found new life after being returned to the lawn. He was running for $7.000 claimer just a few races ago and has two graded wins since moving out of the lowly claiming ranks. He’s another with a front-end style so this is going to get interesting on the pace side of things.
Nothing but wins for the AW conditioned gelding, and he looked strong winning at CD on a soggy turf course back in June. Normally, I look right over him but you have to respect the connections and give him a second peek.. or be sorry you didn’t.
Dropped back in class a bit last out, while moving up in distance – that spelled win as he took a mile and three-eighth’s state-bred Alw race at BEL. I think he’s going to have to find something more in the tank to be close in this one.
The old boy got back to the winning ways last out over the WO turf and now has won half of his ’15 starts. Two of those were kicking off the year, and I don’t know if the marathon distance is really his bag any more.
The magic hands of Mb Stables got this one back to the winner’s circle last out after going 0-for-this year in two other barn’s hands. Those were talented trainers but Mb just has that thing. Give him a big look.
Willie’s Green Card 6 / 1-3
