Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

A field of only six fillies and Mares have been entered up for this years running of the grade three Pitcher Stakes over this Monmouth Park surface. Not a big field by any means but it does look like a pretty good race in paper. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Miss Outofcontrol (7-3-2-0 $106.500), trained by Mb Stables

The first runner in the field here is also the first of two runners from Mb Stables. She is a lightly raced filly and has only stepped into stakes company once. This is a good test for her and I think that she is definitely capable of hitting the bottom of the board.

2. Really Healthy (8-2-4-1 $116.760), trained by La Canada Racehorses

And the second runner in the field here is entering this race off of two runner up finishes in stakes and graded stakes company. She usually likes to gun it to the lead but last time she came from off the lace which I think could help her. She could be the speed of the speed though.

3. Crush Space (7-3-1-1 $96.740), trained by High Voltage

Now to this filly who is coming into this race off of a stakes win but that was on the turf. She did sure enough win a stakes race at Belmont in her last start but that was over the turf so not sure how that will translate to this race. She is suspicious on the dirt.

4. Kaikoura (9-3-1-0 $303.100), trained by Smokey Stover

This next filly got in a race over the track in her last out when she won a second level allowance race after going wire to wire. She is a graded stakes winner so she is very capable of winning this race and I think she has a big chance to do so. She will be one of the favorites.

5. Neds Assets (13-5-5-1 $69.880), trained by The Sidley Stud

Well making a jump up in class is this filly right here but she has won some very minor stakes in her career at least. She got beat in an allowance race at Lone Star last time so she will have to improve majorly off of that race. I think she runs fourth at best.

6. Right On Schedule (4-1-1-1 $77.370), trained by Mb Stables

And the final filly in the field here is the other one of the Mb Stables duo and she is coming off of a maiden breaking score but it was against stakes company at Churchill Downs. The biggest question mark about her is if she can get the distance or not.

Summary

Well it is a small field but hey there is still some quality in this bunch and I could see three or four winning for sure. My top pick is going to be Really Healthy off of the two runner up finishes in a row. Good luck to all in the field.
