Blink and You May Miss the Green Flash

Green Flash Handicap – Grade III
DMR Race #5 5f Turf Graded Stake
Purse $100.000 For Three Year Olds And Upward.

1 Jolly Be Native John Henry Maldonado E

Only at HRP do we see a horse that was beaten a nose in the BC Juvenile and a real contender for the TC become a half decent turf sprinter. This formerly brilliant horse has gone from those heady heights to finishing second in a $15.000 turf sprint claimer but again in true HRP Style he has also finished second in a grade three recently and with no class system to go by we really dont know where he sits any more. One thing is for sure his works are very fast and you do have to wonder whether John Henry’s recent success is rubbing off on this old timer. I would have to say he may just be the winner but i may also be made to look pretty stupid after the race.
2 Global Disaster Threshold Espinoza V

Looks out of his grade here but gets a decent draw and i doubt there will be more than a couple of lengths covering the field. I have a note from his trainer that he may be sent to the lead so beware the rabbit.

3 Vino Bambino Chili King Stables Smith M E

A true sprinting type he had a good year last year culminating ina great run in the BC Turf Sprint when beaten just a length. He has run well this year without winning and may have lost a tick of his speed although a good draw and only a half length to wins with Jolly Be Native on his last start put him close enough to be a good chance.

4 Reuleaux Mb Stables Velazquez J

A few sons of Commanding have shown some speed and this one showed plenty in his last win in allowance company at LAD. All but one of his wins have come in routes but that means nothing at HRP and with the way things are he has as good a chance as anything.

5 Baie Baie Spankys Barn Prat F

A real tough five year old he is enjoying a good season and has been hitting some fast speed figures. His works are sharp and to be honest you may as well throw him in the hat as a possible winner.

6 Camerons Willie Ekli Stable Bejarano R

The PRX sprint looks just about the same as this race will go with second third and fourth going here and they had a half length between them in that race. This one was fourth after showing speed and is drawn out a bit so its hard to see hi reversing that form.

7 Kremlin Maxmillion Farm Franco G

A dirt sprinter for most of his recent career he decided to throw a 57 and 2 work on the turf so here he is. I have no idea where he fits into this race but his number must go in the hat.

8 Well Dressed Fractious Desormeaux

Didnt fair so well when upped to this grade in his last start from a similar draw. His trainer gives him another chance today.

9 Hooligans Holiday Threshold Gaffalione T

Has won on turf but has sprinted mainly on the dirt. He may find it tough from the car park today.

SUMMARY

Put nine numbers in a hat and pick one!!
