Solid as a rock hitting the board in six of seven starts this season. This is a major step up in class, but I kind of like the way that he just does enough to get the job done. Just a workman type colt that packs his lunch, gives his all and comes back to do it again next time. He will probably have some odds here today, but I like him a little bit.
Back to back wins and on the board in four of his five seasonal starts. He’s another that is on the rise class-wise here today but has shown the speed to run with just about any horse. Sub :57 split last out in that Alw win at LAD, and that’s hauling the mail. But can he do it with this type of compitition?
Tired badly last out for the new barn as they tried to stretch him out in the WV Derby. He did all of the heavy lifting but folded like a card table down the lane to be fifth. He’s been solid in sprints this year and should be in the middle of things here today unless that Chester race took something out of him.
A real head-scratcher coming out of that Kings Bishop (GI) race where he tired early and wobbled home last of twelve on that afternoon. His recent work is well off of his previous am gallops and I seeing too many red flags to jump on his band-wagon today. I think the public will pump some money his way, but I’m going to watch from afar.
Broke maiden last out at DMR going a mile and they jump directly into the deep end of the pool with this one. He’s done most of his racing on the left coast and was facing CA-breds in most of those races. I just can’t get real excited by his work up to this point.
Bounced back to be third in the Obrien (GII) at DMR after that eleventh place finish in the Crosby . Many of his graded efforts of late have been less than magnificent and the bulk of his earnings came as a 2yo. He will probably see some action at the windows but I’m going to look at some others.
I’ve loved his last three efforts – back to back wins and a hard fought third in that Kings Bishop (GI) last out where he set the early pace and just couldn’t hold off a couple. That was a tough race so either he grows from it and handles these with ease or it takes the starch out of him and it’s a bounce. I’m going with a big run.
Another bang up race last out when second at DMR in a nice OptAlw race where he just couldn’t contain the winner that afternoon. Fast race, he was very game and looks like a horse that has room to improve. I like the two local works and he looks ready to fire his best shot.
Well bred, lightly raced colt that lit up the tote last out winning the Tale Of The Cat at 104/1 odds. I really don’t see where they changed much with him, so he just must be growing into himself and finding his best stride at this point. ‘mouche gets the return ride – can these guys do it again?
Back to back wins and that was a doozy last out at DMR closing quickly and getting home in fast time to take an OptAlw race. He’s won four of his last five starts and albeit that it was against softer and he drew a death post here today, I still like him.
