Plucky Springer Storms Home in Sloppy Champagne

The skies opened up today in New York which caused all kinds of havoc with the track, causing the track conditions to come back as sloppy. That had to worry some of the owners in this race today as there were potential Breeders Cup spots on the line. Even with the sloppy track all 12 horses stayed in the race hoping that their horse would be able to splash home to victory. The betting public was having a hard time getting behind any horse but the favorites role went to Grandeur at 7/2. As the gates swung open all of the horses appeared to get out well. After the first ¼ of a mile Ned Isakoff had stormed away to a narrow lead over Babolot. Back in 3^rd was Dream It Again who was stalked on the outside by DJ Fireraj in 4^th. A half mile into the race the top 2 in the running order were the same but Ned Isakoff had stretched his lead a bit. DJ Fireraj had passed Dream It Again and moved into 3^rd. After 6 furlongs of the race Ned Isakoff was looking very strong on the lead and had put away Babolot who was fading toward the back. DJ Fireraj had moved into 2^nd place passing the tiring Babolot but did not look strong enough to catch this leader. The closers appeared to be lining up and were going to take their best shot at Ned Isakoff who was hoping he had built up enough of a lead. The mad dash for the wire was an exciting one, with Ned Isakoff getting tired; Plucky Swinger swung wide and charged hope to pass him just before the wire.
