Mb Stables and the one-two punch…  at it again.  Only a head separated the coupling in this one as Rose Of The Moon held off stable-mate Highest Esteem for the win in Saturdays Sleepy Hollow at BEL, getting the mile in 1:35.31.  Rodeo was two lengths back in third.

The field got away well with Its My Party from the far outside, Rose Of The Moon showing speed, Iron Hk Seven next to that one, Rodeo from the rail and Highest Esteem the early trailer.

Making their way down the backside and nearing the far turn, five furlongs to run and It’s My Party in front by a length.  Rose Of The Moon clinging to the rail in second, Highest Esteem just in behind that one, another length to Iron Hk Seven and Rodeo was now at the back, four lengths from the leader.

Around the big bend and to the top of the lane in this one-turn mile even, a furlong and a half to run and Rose Of The Moon now in front by a length and a half.  It’s My Party looking a bit weary, Highest Esteem on the outside of that one, A gap of two back to Iron Hk Seven and Rodeo out wide for the run to the wire.

Inside the final 150-yards and to the finish. Rose Of the Moon in front, Highest Esteem closing in on that one as Rodeo now picked it up from the back of the pack… but Rose Of The Moon had just enough gas in the tank to hold off his stable mate and take the win.  Highest Esteem was a game second with Rodeo closing quickly for the third spot.  Iron Hk Seven was fourth and Its My Party tired to be last after setting the early pace.

Rose Of The Moon is a 2yo chestnut colt by Hollywood Moon – Bewitching Dancer, by  Danehill Runner, and he was bred in NY by his owner, Mb Stables.  This was his third win from four starts and he now has earnings of $170.620.
