Its the Battle of the Kings in Empire Distaff

The Empire Distaff
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $250.00 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up Foaled In NY.

1st La Gran Kirky, trained by Australia Wide

It seems the old king of HRP can still spot a good one as this daughter of El Gran Broomstick made it three from three for her new owner. Running off the leaders she picked them up in good time to win by just under a length. The BC came a bit soon for her this year but I have a feeling that Australia Wide will be thinking 12 months ahead with this progressive sort.

2nd Well In Line, trained by Mb Stables

Whilst the old king won this race the new king proved that he can still pull a performance out of almost anything. This maiden winner having only her fourth race was restrained in the rear for much of the race but finished like a train for second and whilst the winner may well be a 2016 BC hope this one may have even more potential to make that line up.

3rd Baked Bean, trained by D J C Racing Stables

This race must’ve left DJC wondering just what he has to do to compete with the big two. With two runners in a four horse field and running first and second for much of the race his two entries filled that last two places with this one ending up the best of them.

4th Sirens Blaring, trained by D J C Racing Stables

You would think the favourite in a comfortable stalk behind his stablemate would be home and hosed but despite running a very similar race and race time to her win in the DEL Oaks she could only trail home in last place today.
