Flying Warrior Makes it Look Easy in Empire Classic

The Empire Classic
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up Foaled In NY.

1st Flying Warrior, trained by Axeman

Consistent form is hard to find these days but Flying Warrior managed to produce a performance that almost mirrored his win in the ONT Derby last time out. Shaded in the early stages he soon took it up and always looked comfortable as he came home a length clear. The son of Iroquois Warrior has certainly hit his straps recently and looks to have an exciting four year old season ahead of him.

2nd Peace Train, trained by Mb Stables

A good sort in overnights he took the step up to black type in his stride to run a strong second. Kept off the pace he ran on well late on and looks worth every cent of the $65 he cost the trainer just three weeks ago.

3rd Moms Shot Clock, trained by Brave

Tried to make all and refused to go away he finished a creditable third in a return to something like his best form.

4th Dojea, trained by Night Rider Stables

Had a good enough spot in transit but was once again made to look very one paced. There are questions still to be answered for this one.

5th Yes Its True

Kept on from the trail but never really got involved

6th Royal Mine

Gradually fell away and ran a pretty poor race. A turf start may be the answer to freshen this one up.
