On the face of it this looked like another one of those unlikely HRP only scenario’s where a three year old that is vastly inferior to the older horses wins a stakes race based purely on the three year old weight allowance. That certainly would’ve had a major influence on this result but there are a couple of other factors that make it slightly more palatable. Firstly this horse is two from two at this trip, on this surface and won in a time that he has proved he can run in the wet before. Though he has been campaigned by the best player in the game almost extensively on dirt is a head scratcher but i think they know that surface doesn’t have too much influence and there just aren’t the turf sprints around early in the year. I guess the one thing that comes back to the weight allowance thing is that he beat last years winner who won this race on a soft track last year in a similar time and who was working just as well.
Whatever the main factors were this 48/1 shot won nicely by just under a length getting the perfect trip and i doubt whether we will be seeing him in dirt next time out.

A repeat in going conditions, a winner last time and the perfect draw looked to have set this horse up perfectly for a repeat of his win last year but try as he may he couldn’t overcome the three year old factor. A good effort though.

First you pick out the three’s then you stick your pin in to see which one will come out on top. This one got well back but flew home for an unlikely third beaten just a length and right upsides last years winner. Trying to work out where that puts him in the future has become impossible recently but this was a super effort from a horse that only broke maidens a few months ago.

5 Great And Prudent Drabfantasy Rosado R J

The BC Sprint runner up beaten two lengths behind two ordinary looking three year olds isn’t unfortunately a shock result. He followed the three year old trend last year breaking its maiden just a few months before taking a graded stakes and finishing second in the BC Sprint so i guess this is pay back time as he now faces similar horses.
