1 Stereotype Mb Stables Ryan S

Broke his maiden at the fourth attempt and then ran way down the field in the Dominion Day Stakes before a better effort back in overnight company last time. On form he shouldn’t even be in the race but he is working as fast as anything and faster than most so why not throw him in again and see what happens.

2 Inoubliable T Boy Racing Chirinos R

The winner of five from ten he has been well handled by his trainer picking up some statebred money after an early attempt in the Grade one AR Derby saw a fair sixth place finish. His last two runs have been in sprints but that doesn’t mean much at HRP and i liked his effort in the R Derby enough to give him a chance here from the perfect draw.

3 Red Dawning Serenity Stables McCarthy T

Another working well enough but without the form on the board he was impressive in a WO Allowance but then failed when upped to the LA Derby. Since then he has had a decent break so comes here fresh when some others have had a tough season already. Chances from a great draw if he is fit and ready.

4 Fallacious Mb Stables Bocachica A

The second of the inevitable three runners from the stable he hasn’t got consistent form to go on here but is working well and did run very well from a terrible draw in the Real Good Deal Stakes last time out. This trip should suit him well and goes into the hat with a winning chance.

5 Laffin Hero Alydar Stables Carrasco V R

Had a good lead up to the TC but got on the speed in the KYD which of course was the kiss of death and then failed badly in the Preakness when taken back. Better in the Dwyer last time he is tough to weigh up but does bring the sort of form that is good for a race like this.

6 Notorious Temper John Henry Van Dyke D

He looked a real chance in the TC after a brilliant win in the AR Derby but like so many failed miserably in what was a real debacle of a TC. Bought for $300 after his failures in the KYD and the BEL he has run fairly since without troubling the judge and is another that is difficult to assess. A return to his AR Derby winning form would be good enough.

7 Fortaleza Mb Stables Cohen D

Claimed, gelded and a change of personality as this one went from a fair overnighter to winning the Plate trial and then very nearly winning the Queens Plate. He contested the Travers last time which was a bridge too far but was only beaten three lengths at the ed without really getting into the fight. If he gets to the front her may be hard to peg back.

8 Finite Dynark Stables Thornton T

This is an interesting runner but has a rotten draw to overcome. The winner of the Davis Stakes early in the year he hasn’t been far away in his three races since and with only six career races may have some improvement in him. His works are very strong and if the race engine is kind to him he may have a good chance.

9 Zinger Nakamura Stables Mena M

Won three in a row before being bought for $200 from Mb Stables but after a terrible run in the Ruby Stakes he was shuffled on for half that to his current owner. Since then he has run two good races at overnight level and faces a tough task from this draw today. If the Nak Factor comes into play who knows.

SUMMARY

This is an interesting mix of TC and stakes form with some promising tyes that have yet to break through. On works i would be going for any of the Mb runners but thats an easy choice these days its which one which is the question. I think i will go for Fortaleza although i rather like Finite from Dynarks too.
