Still looking for his first victory of the year at at the age of six, this may not be the place to come looking for it. Was third in the Brubaker Stakes over this strip last out, and he did lead in that into deep stretch. Still, I think you have to take a serious look at a few others before you get on this one.
Has three wins from eight seasonal starts including an open stakes win over this track in the Pirates Bounty Stakes going six panels and at nearly 50/1 odds. I don’t think you get that here today, but he looks like he could be in the middle of this one. Nice works… give him a look.
Pair of seasonal wins, both at the Alw level and was fifth here in the Real Good Deal Stakes, at this distance, back in Aug. Has some tactical speed and that’s always a good thing. Looks like a spot where he can be a major factor.
He has two wins this season, but the wheels certainly seem to have come off of late. A pair of eighth place finishes then a dead last twelfth in the SA Sprint Classic (GI). Granted, those races were v. GI horses, but it’s just been an ugly way of going and father time may have caught up.
Was a near-miss second on the SA down-hill course in the California Flag Stakes, then ran fourth of in NoCal in a dirt sprint. He may run his best races on the grass, and that’s not good for this race. I think a minor share is the best they are hoping for.
Tagged via the claim box last out when winning back-to-back races at RP. One was on dirt, the other on grass, so the surface doesn’t seem to matter. He has a big late kick and they may be the difference maker in this one.
Nice win at SA v. OptAlw horses after the vet came by for the un-kindest of cuts. Seems to have gotten his attention and this lightly raced gelding is only making his sixth lifetime start. He may get overlooked a pull the upset.
Cuts back in distance and class, and that could spell success. Has been on a steady diet of graded stakes with most of those at a mile and change. He hasn’t won this year, but has four runner-up efforts to go with a pair of thirds. This is certainly a good place for him.
