What a battle! What a finish! Sometimes, these small fields are just runaways, but not The Allaire Distaff Stakes (GIII) as we had a bang-bang-bang photo and when the dust settled and they looked at the photograph, Greyfriars Stables’ Cp Skeleton Moons was declared the winner by the slimmest of margins. Post-time favorite Beldame lost out on the photo after battling the entire way, and took the place by a head over Tall And Fast. Cherokee Latte was fourth. The final running time was 1:48.88 for the mile and an eighth main track stakes.
Cp Skeleton Moons is a 4yo bay filly by Moon Ruler – Red Skeleton, by Red Rioja, and she was bred by Childs Play in LA. Acquired by Greyfriars Stable at the Dec 21 Auction for $100.000, she now has five wins from twelve starts, two of those wins in three starts for the new connections, and she has lifetime earnings of $352.210. Congratulations to the connections!

Cp Skeleton Moons quick start securing the rail, dueled throughout, prevailed. Beldame alert break, 3p first turn, continued in the 3p throughout, dueled, just missed. Tall And Fast forced pace between horses, gaining late, lost photo. Cherokee Latte no threat.
