Moonlight Cloud and Skeleton Spy Renew Rivalry

statebred Purse $150.000  For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward Foaled In FL,MD,NY,PA.

1 Moonlight Cloud, trained by Aydar Stables
Bought for $365 after a brilliant third in the BC Juvenile Turf she then spent the bulk of her three
year old season in the wilderness. A fair debut then saw her fail miserably in a couple of stakes races
and an overnight before being put out in the paddock for time and tide to do its work. That patience
looks to have paid off however as she came out in the The South Beach Stakes after a six month break
to run a very encouraging second and has been working up a strom since. If this canny trainer has this
filly back to her best she could win this very easily.

2 Skeleton Spy, trained by Chili King Stables
Another very good filly who escapes a penalty despite some great runs in top company she must alos go on
the list of very possible winners. She got pay checks in four graded stakes as a three year old and was a
neck second in that BC Juvenile Turf ahead of Moonlight Cloud. Her last effort was in the grade two Flower
Bowl where she ran another good race to be third. Coming off a break she has been working strongly and she
must have as good if not better a chance that her old rival.

3 Short Dog, trained by Maverick Racing
Throwing this filly into the mix certainly spices this race up but she is still paying for a great career
in the form of penalties and she has to carry 4Lbs more then her main rivals. I couldnt begin to list the great
efforts in top company this filly has put in but a worrying decline in her last few races may spell the end of
a great career. I really hope not and it would be great to see this five year old reporduce her amazing late run
to win this but she has let me down once too often to tip her out again.

4 Princess Mandy, Night Rider Stables
This great race doesnt stop getting better with yet another top class filly. A grade three winner and a check getter
at grade one. Whilst she certainly has the credentials to win she hits a very good field here and she may just find
one or two too good for her. Her last win was in August 2014 and that is a worry and enough of a reason to keep her
out of my top two.

5 Ubet Sheza Queen, trained by Ubet Racing
An improving sort who is in career best form she showed her well being with a close second in the TP Oaks on seasonal
reappearence. Her works are sharp and she will certainly be in this but the two pound penalty she has to carry may
make the difference. If you like her then back her, she has a winning chance but in a close looking race you have to look
at the little things.

6 Southern Atheno, trained by La Canada Racehorses
A good sort who deserves her place but she gets a tough field today and has to carry the penalty as well. She is as fit as
a flea though and will run well i just cant see her getting near the best of them.

7 Aurea Vesperum, trained by Big Guns Stables
130Lbs, the wide draw this very nice filly looks beat before she takes a stride. A winner of the grade three Eatondown Stakes
last season she has an excellent turf record but i cant go beyond the weight and the draw when looking at her chances.

SUMMARY

For me this is about Moonlight Cloud and Skeleton Spy who are favoured by the race conditions and have nice draws to race from.
Outside those two my heart will be beating for Short Dog to run somewhere near her best.
