Happy Outburst, running in the colors of Onlineracingclub.com, ran down long-time leader Laffin Funky to claim The Schiller at AQU on Saturday.  The $150.000 stakes was the first such victory for the sophomore gelding and continues an excellent run of form for the son of Happy Happy Joy Joy  He improved his record to 8-5-2-0 and now has earnings of $172.360.  The Schiller was contested over an AQU inner turf course that was labeled as soft and Happy Outburst completed the flat mile in the time of 1:37.92.

Laffin Funky was sent from the gate and quickly established a two length lead on the second flight.  Happy Outburst was racing in that second flight while in between Butter Ball and Beach Xaar.  Laffin Funky had things pretty much to himself up front as he cruised through fractions of :23.56, :47.42, and 1:11.94.

It was at the quarter pole that Happy Outburst left Butter Ball and got within a length of the leader.  Although Happy Outburst was gaining, Laffin Funky never showed any quit on the front end.  The lead changed hands at the sixteenth pole; however, there would be no seperation between the top two.  Butter Ball tried to move on the duo from the rail, but he would have to settle for the show honors.  Happy Outburst would look to inch clear and Laffin Funky would lunge forward time after time.  At the wire, they were just :00.03 of seperation, but Happy Outburst got his number put up on the tote.   Butter Ball got within a length and was followed home by Key To The Sunset, Financial Peace, Beach Xaar, Rhythm Of Thought, and Ideal Gift.
