Crimson Dragon made a winning stakes-level debut as he motored home to capture the $125.000 Queens County Handicap at AQU on Sunday. The TwinTowersRacing homebred improved his ledger to 14-3-2-1 with $129.230 in earnings.
For the first six furlongs of the 11/8 Queens County, Crimson Dragon was a non-factor. Sinissippi Cherokee was loose on the lead taking the field through a half in :47.27 and three-quarters in 1:10.73. Crimson Dragon was fourth and a good five lengths off of that pace.
Utilizing a powerful three furlong burst, Crimson Dragon sprinted home a length and a quarter in front of Downward Roll and He Needsa Manzillian as that duo DH’d for the place honors. Sinissippi Cherokee was fourth ahead of Crimson Rioja, Psychotic Ruler, and Booster.
