No Doubt for Raleigh in Dominguez Memorial Handicap

Dominguez Memorial Handicap
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $100.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up Foaled In NM.

1st      Raleigh In Doubt      Ekli Stable       Sarmiento R

So often these handicaps go to the bottom weights, it is one of the many little ‘glitches’ in that it is rare the best horse with a few pounds more will beat a solid type that wouldn’t get close to it on levels. This winner is just that type, a good win ratio, solid works and no stakes form to talk of to put him up the weights. he ran what has been the best tactical race, behind the leader but not in the third group and then digging deep down the stretch to overhaul the leaders and hold the closers. This was a deserved win by a work horse who continues to repay his trainers great placement.

2nd      Dragonheart Hanny      Jive Inc.         Amparan F

Tried to make all but i have been seeing this type of effort again and again since we had the original front runners win everything on the new engine, now it seems the front runners just get collared by the stalkers. He made a bold attempt and like the winner he looks like a tough sort who will always give you a run for your money.

3rd       Sport Mad         Night Rider Stables       Fuentes M T Jr

I was worried about the trip for him but he saw it out really strongly and very nearly collared the first two. Maybe that extra pound made the difference.

4th       Hachita         Spankys Barn        Carreno J

Came from the same place as Sport Mad but didn’t close as quickly probably due to the other pound he had to carry. An honest effort.
