 8    SA      Irish Stakes

$100.000    4yo&Up F&M    6 1/2f  Turf (Hillside)   123lbs

The sprinting ladies were on display Saturday as the Irish Stakes put a field of ten on the downhill turf course and the High Voltage owned Gummy made every call a winning one, taking the six and a half furlong stakes in 1:12.95, getting home by three-quarters of a length.  Angelos Stable’s Notorious Aristocrat proves to be a handy claim as she stalks the winner throughout to take the second spot in her first trip for the new owner.  Test Code Party, owned by Asgar, closed from off of the pace to be third, with In Cold Blood taking the minor spot.

Gummy is a 5yo bay mare by Gumshoe – Polish Dogma, by Eastern Precedent, and she was bred by EasyMoney Stables in Cal.  Acquired via private purchase for $26.000 back in Sep of 2019, she now shows eight wins from twenty-three starts, and has lifetime earnings of $456.120.  Congrats to the Connections!

Gummy broke alertly, smartly handled through the dog-leg to save ground, continued to lead into the lane, drifted out slightly down the lane, lasted.  Notorious Aristocrat tracked the pace 3p, moved to 5p for the drive, closed late gap.  Test Code Party rated back off of the pace, swung widest for the drive, good late effort.  In Cold Blood pressed the pace, moved 6p into the lane, evenly.  Royally Bred inside trip just behind the pace, weary late.  Cassandra G gave an even effort.  Uzume mid-pack, no response.  Fioraia Ruler was not involved.  Bad Assa was outrun.  Win For Red saved ground to no avail.
