It’s that time… off to Louisville we go for a few weeks of the most important stakes races in America, and let’s start with a group of sprinting females in The Roxelana, a six furlong dash on the famed CD main track.  I went with Break From Holly as the top choice in a fairly wide open race.  She’s been very consistent and I think this is the day for her to get her picture taken.  Again, this is a race when nothing will surprise me… to the rail we go!

Here’s the Field –

1
Miss Atomic Bomb    Aarons Hosses    Hernandez B J Jr   124   6/1

Picks up two pounds off of that FLA-bred stakes iwn at GP (DH) where she won the Sheer Drama.  She was also third in the Raven Run (GII) at KEE and second in the Interborough at AQU before that fifth in the Hurricane Bertie (GIII) at GP.  Her best would certainly put her in the picture here today.

2
Tunted    Night Rider Stables    Graham J   122   5/1

She’s won two in a row, breaking maide ont he GP grass, then takiing NW1 Alw foes at TAM, again on the grass.  So it’s a step up and a move to the main track where she has shown some talent, running third vs MSW types at BEL.  With only six starts, she’s a bit of a wild card.

3
   Jedediah    D J C Racing Stables    Talamo J   122   7/2

A very consistent type that has two wins from her last six starts, and when you add in a trio of runner-up starts, including a half-length beat in the Seneca over this surface, you have to give her a big look today.  Her current for says you have to use her on all tickets.

4
El Gran Condottieri    First Flight Stable    Bejarano R   122   8/1

She’s been close in all starts since switching from a top notch trainer to a bum.  Still, despite poor training, she’s been in the picture in all four starts, including a runner up effort in the Sand Springs on the soggy GP sod last out.  She’s won a few bucks, so maybe…

5
Break From Holly    Nakamura Stables    Beschizza A   122   5/2

She looks good to me… Only a single win last season and she’s still looking for her first win of ’22, but she just missed last out at TAM and was fourth in the Kalookan Queen at SA in her other seasonal start.  She has good speed and this may be the spot for her.
