$100.000 3yo 6f Dirt 122lbs
Dellas Boy had aspirations of the TC Trail… when that went up in smoke with a ninth place finish in the Lexington, Alydar Stables decided to go back to his sprinting roots and it paid off with a win in the Gold Fever at BEL on Sunday. The black gelding raced mid-pack to the top of the lane and when called upon, he motored by them and won by a length, stopping the clock in a swift 1:091 for the six furlongs. Learned Jake obviously out-ran is training and took the second spot in a photo finish with Public Information and Marco Polo, the stable-mates ending up in a dead-heat for third.
Dellas Boy is a 3yo black gelded son of Pinkman – Maxie Mama, by Mr Creepy, and he was bred in BC by his owner, Alydar Stables. This was his second win from nine starts and he now has lifetime earnings of $133.600. Congrats to the connections!

Dellas Boy rated back off of the pace between horses, moved to 4p for the drive, went past foes inside the final sixteenth, drew clear late. Learned Jake forced the pace throughout, hung on for the place. Public Information closed from off of the pace, good late effort, dh for third. Marco Polo lacked early interest, swung widest for the drive, best foot late, dh for third. Dexter Rules set the pace to the sixteenth marker, nothing left.
