1-Mile Dirt 3YOs 122 Lbs

Brave Freedom, using a tracking trip from the three-path, accelerated late in The Dwyer-G3 and beat Uranus to the wire to score a half-length victory.  The co-feature on the three-race BEL card, the $250.000, 1-mile event for 3yos is the third consecutive victory for the gelding from Nakamura StablesThe Dwyer-G3 is the first graded tally for Brave Freedom and the winner’s share of the purse ups his career earnings to $311.370 from a 10-4-2-1 record.

Breaking from post five, Brave Freedom was on the outside of a three-horse scrum chasing a loos-on-the-lead America First.  The winner was patiently handled by R.M. Hernandez as he sat two-lengths off of America First as the latter posted fractions of :23.46 and :46.88 before they reached the turn.

As the field reached the top of the lane in 1:10.37, there was a wall of four horses across the track.  Uranus, on the inside of Brave Freedom, put his nose in front at the eighth pole; however, the latter was pressuring him every step of the way.  Gradually, Brave Freedom inched clear to post a half-length victory in the time of 1:34.94.  Uranus held off Gem Of A Shark and The Martian for the place while that duo had to settle for a DH 3rd.  Completing the order of finish were America First, Deep Purple, and Fireside Story.

Congratulations to Brave Freedom and Nakamura Stables, the winners of The Dwyer-G3
